SUR LE BOIS — “on the wood” — is a collection developed with Conceitos de Arte that treats timber as the stage for daily rituals. In this cabinet, the concept is translated into a tall, quiet structure, with a solid wooden base supporting a lighter, almost architectural display above. It is a piece that grounds the room, suggesting that everything meaningful happens on the wood.
The design features a slatted, solid-wood base that creates a rhythmic play of light and shadow, supporting a large glass volume framed in timber. This contrast between the textured, closed lower section and the transparent upper gallery reinforces the idea of a solid foundation carrying a curated, ethereal world.
Designed for dining rooms and lounges, the cabinet functions as both storage and a domestic gallery. Whether used to hold tableware or to display books and ceramics, its vertical presence and softened edges introduce a sense of material honesty to the interior. It works equally well as a standalone focal point or as part of a wider SUR LE BOIS composition.
