MOOSH is a dining chair developed in collaboration with Ballé Studio, designed to bring structure to the foreground. Instead of a concealed base, the piece features a hand-carved wooden pedestal that supports the seat and defines its sculptural character. Every base is crafted from solid oak or walnut, ensuring the maker’s gestures remain legible amidst the timber’s unique transitions.
The chair is composed of two distinct elements: a textured, conical pedestal and a compact upholstered upper. A slim gap between the wood and fabric emphasises the meeting point between the chair’s sculptural wooden structure and its precise upholstery. This single central volume anchors the piece, providing a clear outline and a comfortable, enveloping backrest without unnecessary bulk.
In a group, the repeated pedestal bases create a strong architectural rhythm around a table. Individually, MOOSH functions as a singular object of craft—a rejection of standardized design in favour of human touch and material expression. It is a refined statement for interiors where seating is central to the space’s visual identity.
