MARYANNE Armchair is inspired by the pioneering writer Mary Anne Weathers, whose work advocated for liberation as a “pro-human” force. This piece takes her vision as a starting point: a quiet, supportive presence designed to hold the body with care while suggesting a broader horizon of shared comfort. It is a small act of care within a room—a place to land, rest, and think.
The design features a solid wooden frame, a generous seat, and a rounded backrest that creates a gentle “cocoon” effect. This compact volume ensures sightlines remain open, while the ash wood legs with a high-gloss Pau Ferro veneer emphasize the richness of the grain. Refined brass details at the feet act as discreet jewelry, grounding the piece with a composed character that feels both sophisticated and approachable.
In its balance of softness and structure, MARYANNE mirrors a stance that is both clear and deeply rooted in everyday experience.
