MARCEL Armchair is named in honour of Marcel Moore, the surrealist artist and photographer known for a collaborative practice that questioned fixed ideas of identity. The chair echoes this spirit through a combination of structure and subtle defiance: a clear, architectural frame that holds a softer interior, acting as a stage for the body where presence and attitude can shift.
 
With deliberately low and deep proportions, MARCEL invites the sitter to inhabit the frame in varied postures—alternately framed or partially concealed.

Marcel Armchair is built around a continuous outer frame that wraps the seat and arms in a single U-shaped gesture. This solid, rectilinear envelope is emphasized by smooth leather or fabric upholstery, giving the piece a monolithic, gallery-like character. Suspended within this volume, a cushioned seat appears to float, while a slim brass bar adds structural stability and a refined metallic line that cuts across the open front.
