MARGARET takes its name from the Greek margaritēs, meaning “pearl” — a symbol of quiet rarity and value that does not need to be showy. The table also pays homage to Margaret Cavendish, a 17th-century philosopher who published bold works on the nature of substance. In this spirit, the piece is conceived as a compact, solid “thought” in wood and brass: a low, dense volume with a single, precise line of light, embodying the idea of something precious, self-contained, and quietly powerful.
The design presents as a flawless rectangular block, adorned in luxuriously grained wood veneer, giving the impression of a single sculpted piece poised close to the floor. A slender brass inlay encircles the centre as a continuous ‘equator’, visually dividing the mass into two harmonious halves and introducing a subtle thread of reflection to the grounded silhouette.
Designed for living rooms and hospitality lounges, the MARGARET Centre Table acts as the quiet, sculptural centre of a seating composition. Its low profile encourages a relaxed, intimate atmosphere around sofas and armchairs, while the generous top offers a pristine plane for layered displays of books and objects. It brings a sense of weight and focus to the interior, anchoring the room like a rare, polished pearl.
